This is something, that I am ashamed to say, that I did not know. In a world that we have the Internet and all the information at our finger tips this is something I would have never guessed. Due to the fact that I did not know one black person that ever played the sport. Come to think of it I was just talking about how blacks do not play that sport at all.

In addition to the book written by the Fosty brothers, there is another book, Breaking the Ice about Black hockey players.
The goaltender for one of the teams in this year's Stanley Cup Championship, the Ottawa Senators, is Ray Emery, a Black man. Another Black man, Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames, is one of the NHL's leading scorers.
