First off, I loved Rosie O'Donnell on The View. People say she was too controversial. Fuck them. She's Rosie. How are you gonna hire a major league controversial star like Rosie and expect her to keep her opinions to herself. Lunacy.
Then Rosie was gone. Oh, how could I deal with that idiotically conservative and perfectly perky Hasselbeck bitch without Rosie to slap her around. I couldn't. I stopped watching the show.
Then, bless the gods, my all time favorite celebrity ever ever ever, the one and only (and also out-spoken) Whoopi Goldberg took Rosie's place. Perfect. Did I tell you I almost got to meet her once, but her damn security tackled me? Yeah, I even told them how much I love her and just wanted to say hello. They didn't care. But that's a long story and I come off as a crazy stalker in it.
Anyway, so far, Whoopi has managed to not stir up as much controversy as Rosie, while still speaking her mind and adding the necesary balance to the Hasselbeck woman. Mentioning her, she's even got a new ally -- Sherri Shepard. Ms. Shepard has already shown herself to have some conservative leanings (she doesn't believe in evolution, and when Whoopi asked her if the world was round, she didn't know -- hmmm). I'll keep an eye on her. And btw Sherri, yes it's round and a lot older than 6 thousand years old. As for evolution, how do you explain Adam and Eve evolving, uh, changing into all the races of mankind. Sit quietly and ponder that, girl.
But with Whoopi in the pilot seat, I'll be watching The View again. And after all, the show needs a few looney tunes views to reflect the face of America -- so I don't hate Hasselbeck or Shepard. But I wouldn't let 'em near my kids. (lol)
