![]() 18 days 'til the Jersey City Artist Studio Tour. Since Miguel Cardenas (co-founder of Jersey City Lesbian & Gay Outreach -JCLGO) asked if I wanted to participate in a group show sponsored by the org., I've been on a rollercoaster ride with peaks of elation and valleys of stress. 18 days. Damn. ![]() With me through it all is my multi-talented Little Devil inner-circle: Gianni, Navi, and Trel (actually there's a fourth, but he doesn't know it yet). Without their input and infusion of youthful energy and ideas, lifting Dancing With The Devil off the page could never happen. And to think I met them through BGClive. I always knew those "social networks" were useful for more than just a hot date on a cold starry night. I'd already tried soliciting models through Craigslist, but the only thing I acquired was a nasty old stalker who kept sending pictures of his butt. From Gianni (who was my first Pretty Young Gangster, 'cause when we met he was all-that and a bag of doo-rags), to Navi (wickedly fashionable, and so adorable you wanna serve him for dessert - with a cherry on top), to Trel (whose taser-like stare and quiet intensity inhabit a body that - like the character he portrays - could make you lose your religion) -- they all brought to the table personas and experiences parallel to the sometimes dangerous hot boys in DANCING WITH THE DEVIL. Okay, that was the elation part, stay tuned for the stress part in my next post .... |
