Boy Scouts smited by gay-friendly god?

Close to 100 Boy Scouts scrambled for safety in shelters and bunkhouses at the heavily wooded Little Sioux Scout Ranch in western Iowa when a tornado hit at around dinner time on Wednesday, authorities said. "It was complete chaos. It was the worst thing I've ever seen. It was injured scouts and dead people [everywhere]," said scout leader, Thomas White. The four boys killed at the camp were identified as two 13-year-olds and one 14-year-old from nearby Omaha, Nebraska, along with a 13-year-old from Eagle Grove, Iowa. ~~ Logic and reason tell me this is a horrible tragedy; Nature doing what it does. However, if I employed the small minded Christian perspectives of say, a John Hagee or Pat Robertson, both of whom have blamed natural disasters on man's own immorality and a fed up old-testament God. If my mind were that small and my heart infused with ice, I could say: ... that the Boy Scouts disdain for homosexuality must be considered in this affair. I mean, if the old-testament God is making a come back, maybe he's tired of his will being twisted to mean something other than it was intended. Yeah. God likes the gays. Homophobes better watch their back. But of course, I'd never say that. It's silly, insensitive, and too much like the foul mouth rantings of those aforementioned people I hate. So save the nasty emails. But my point is clear. I feel for the families of the victims and for the other kids who'll never forget the horror of this incident, but I hope they know that God had nothing to do with it -- just like he had nothing to do with hurricane Katrina smiting the gays, no matter what the gluttonous John Hagee says. ~~ “Duty to God ahead of country, others, and self is the credo of suicide bombers.” -- Penn Jillette

'Out Damn Scouts,' says Philly.

(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) The city said it will evict a Boy Scout council from its publicly owned headquarters or make the group pay a fair rent price unless it changes its policy on gays.
